Smart Phone Prices in Pakistan set to increase

A new budget related to the smartphone taxes has just announced now by the newly placed Finance Minister of Pakistan, Miftah Ismail. He said in front of the National Assembly in which the prices of smartphones are going to be increased. However, the news is not good for the Telecom companies and even for those mobile phone sellers.

According to the Government, there would be additional charges have been placed to the import of smartphones in the form of tax. However, smartphones which are under RS,10,000 have no any other extra import duty. Import tax of Rs 1000 is required on the smartphones reaching the amount between Rs10,000 to Rs40,000.

A considerable value of Rs 3,000 will be taxed on the imported smartphones among the price limit of Rs 40,000 and Rs 80,000, in a meanwhile, Rs 5,000 extra tax will be loaded on the mobile phones which have priced above Rs 80,000.

As per reports, that the last year, the federal government had decreased taxes on a specific class of smartphones which was happiness to ICT sector. Now, this time let’s see what the reaction of Pakistan’s ICT industry will be related to the taxes which are increases now.
