Steve Wozniak Shuts Down his Facebook Account in Protest
Social media has become an important and influential part in all societies of the world. It not only about the advantages it brings to the table but it is also about the impact it makes to an individual’s life. Let us tell you how Apple Co-founder Steve Wozniak Close his Facebook Account in Protest
Although social media is beneficial for masses, the recent conspiracies have made the usage of social media doubtful. Yes, I am talking about the recent incident which happened with Facebook which is the biggest and most popular social media platform in the entire world.
Recently Facebook came into suspicion when it was revealed that Facebook sells our information and data to governments and companies. In response to this, one of the most influential businessmen, Steve Wozniak has decided to shut down his Facebook account until the platform comes up with its worst privacy crisis in history.
Steve Wozniak emailed USA Today in which is told that Facebook makes a great deal of money by selling personal details provided by the users. He even added that he would prefer paying for Facebook. He further added that his company Apple earns great money and profits by selling the best products to its customers and not by selling their users information to others.
In a recent interview, Steve Wozniak told that he was thinking about deleting his Facebook account from a long time. But, he eventually made this decision when a lot of his friends had too decided to shut down their Facebook accounts.
He believes that it is double standards from Facebook as they are not hiding the user’s privacy while the owner of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg buys all the houses around his house for his privacy.
The same incident even happened in the latest American elections when Donald trump won. During Trump’s campaign, his company gathered information from 87 million Facebook users to try to influence the elections.
In response to this, Facebook has announced that the company will be making technical changes to address these issues. Mark along with other top executives of the company apologized for such a big mistake made by their company.
Mark is also going to testify about the ongoing scandal and tell how his company failed to guard the user’s private information.
But Wozniak believes that he is not going to believe anything from Facebook now onwards and he even said that Facebook is not going to make any policy changes for the next decades too. When asked about that will Apple stop the selling and purchasing of Facebook app on Apple store he said that he does not make decision regarding that. He even said that he does not see this happening this in the future.
