Oppo Renames Oppo R17 Pro to Oppo RX17 Pro for its European Customer
Oppo R17 Pro will be officially launched in Europe tomorrow, but with a different name. It will be called Oppo PX17 Pro instead. There is no known reason for the name change, though. It was announced in late August but didn’t see the stores until this month. Oppo R17 was finally launched in China on the first of November. It will hit stores on November 6 in Europe as Oppo RX17, though.
The launch event is scheduled to take place in Milan, Italy. You can stream the whole event online from home, thank God for technology. Even though no surprises are expected but these launch events give pleasure to us technology geeks.
Till it hits the physical markets, Oppo RX17 Neo can be pre-ordered online in Europe. It is not exactly equivalent to R17, though. It is more similar to RX15 and K1 (a Japan exclusive model). Unlike the Neo, Oppo RX17 Pro is more like R17. In fact, it is exactly like R17 except for that ‘X’ in the model’s name. Oppo Rx17 has a large 6.4 inches display, a 1080p+ AMOLED screen with a teardrop notch. It can be the perfect substitute for OnePlus 6T, except with an added 3D ToF camera on the rear. It also has Super VOOC charging. The chipset to power this piece of technology to life is the Snapdragon 710.
Whether the vanilla Oppo R17 will launch with this new name globally as well is still unclear. We will just have to wait and watch. Some claim that Oppo R17 will launch as Rx17 Neo. The specs are identical as that of Oppo R17, though. Not even an inch different. The two models are practically twin sisters.
