Toyota Corolla 12th Generation Scheduled to Launch this Week
Toyota Corolla has undoubtedly been the most popular of the Japanese automotive company. The Corolla was titled the best selling nameplate in the world in 1997, surpassing Volkswagen Beetle. With time Toyota has been upgrading its flagship vehicle to keep in line with the modern technological advancements.
Corolla will launch its new Toyota Corolla on November 16th. This Corolla Sedan will be introduced at the Guangzhou International Motor Show. The new car will possibly come to the markets by late 2019 or early 2020. The 11th generation was launched back in 2013. And a facelift was introduced in 2017.
Toyota has huge expectations from its new model. 11th Generation Corolla had a huge competition, the Honda Civic. Toyota saw many of its customers shifting to Civic due to its more modern interior and design. Toyota has been working hard to not only earn those customers but also make new fans with this new model.
Earlier this year, Toyota revealed the next generation Auris in Geneva. The company showcased Toyota Corolla hatchback at the NY Auto show, recently. Both these models are almost identical, except for minor exterior differences. It is known as Auris in Europe, and Corolla in the US (just to make things clear). Components inside as well as on the outside are identical. So is the platform.
The new model will be based on Toyota’s new global platform known as TNGA, “Toyota New Global Architecture.” This modular platform is currently being used by many older models. Such as Prius and C-HR as well as sedans like the Camry.
According to the hatchback, the interior of the Toyota Corolla 12 generation will almost be the same. You can expect an 8 inches high definition touchscreen above the AC vents. The screen is placed in the middle. There will be a new tablet-style head unit. This can currently be observed in Toyota Avalon and Rav4SUV. There is a possibility of a digital cluster on the higher variant of the car. Though, the conventional needle-type analog cluster would be available, too.
