Federal Budget 2019-20: 3% import tax on mobile phones abolished
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) government unveiled its federal budget 2019-20 on Tuesday abolishing the 3 percent tax on the import of mobile phones.
Presenting the budget in the National Assembly, State Minister for Revenue Hammad Azhar said there was a 3% value-added tax on business imports, due to which the tax burden was unnecessarily increased.
He said the budget recommended abolishing the value-added tax on the import of mobile phones. The state minister further said this would reduce the tax on imports of mobile phones.
